After the regulatory process of proposal and appointment of the Directorate by the University of València and the CSIC, Gustavo Gómez and Rosario Gil assume the direction of the institute on May 25, 2024.

On April 16, the I2SysBio Senate unanimously supported the management project presented by Gustavo Gómez as director and Rosario Gil as vice director. This support was ratified by the Institute's Board, which submitted the proposal to the Presidency of the CSIC and the Rectorate of the University of Valencia. On May 25, the institutions have appointed the new Directorate that replaces the previous team formed by Emilia Matallana and Santiago F. Elena.

Gustavo Gómez is a Researcher at the CSIC and Principal Investigator of the group "Non-Coding RNA-Mediated Regulatory Networks". Rosario Gil is Professor of Genetics at the University of Valencia and Principal Investigator in the group "Evolutionary Genetics". Both will be assisted in their task of co-directing the institute by Javier Buceta, Senior Scientist at the CSIC and Principal Investigator in the group "Theoretical and In Silico Modeling of Biological Systems".
