To mark Earth Day, the Sustainability Committees of the Institute for Integrative Systems Biology (I2SysBio), the Institute of Corpuscular Physics (IFIC), and the Institute of Agrochemistry and Food Technology (IATA) – all CSIC institutes located in the University of Valencia Science Park – have organised a joint initiative in coordination with the Science Park’s landscaping company.

During the event, members of these committees took part in sowing wildflower seeds to create a naturalised meadow, as well as planting various fruit trees (pomegranate, loquat, almond, strawberry tree, etc.) and ornamental trees (ash, holm oak, gall oak, etc.).

Every 22 April, World Earth Day is celebrated. It is a date designated by the United Nations with the aim of raising awareness about climate change, pollution and the importance of conserving biodiversity, as well as soil. Furthermore, on this day, all organisations are encouraged to organise activities related to the care and maintenance of nature.
